Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

AuthorSend is operated by Adazing LLC. This policy explains what personal information AuthorSend collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers three groups of people: visitors to authorsend.com, customers (the authors and teams who hold an AuthorSend account), and readers (the people on a customer’s mailing list, or who visit a customer’s pages).

Data Collection

We collect information you give us directly, information created as you use the service, and a small amount of technical information collected automatically.

  • Account information. Your name, email address, password (stored only as a hash), the name of your team or business, your mailing address for the footer of your emails, and your settings.
  • Billing information. Your plan and payment history. Card details are entered with and held by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Content you create. Your emails, templates, pages, websites, books and other files, automations, and your brand voice profile.
  • A preview you ask us to email. If you have the preview of your book sent to your inbox before you sign up, we keep your email address and the preview, so the link in that email works. If you open it, we send two short notes about getting set up, then stop. Each one has an unsubscribe link.
  • Support messages. What you send us through the contact form, the in-app help widget, or email, so we can reply.
  • Technical information. IP address, browser type, and device information, collected when you use the site and the app. We use it to keep accounts secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors.

Your Readers’ Information

When a customer uses AuthorSend to build and email a mailing list, we process information about their readers on that customer’s behalf. The customer decides what to collect and why, and is the controller of that information; AuthorSend is their processor.

  • What it includes. A reader’s email address, name and any other fields the customer collects, the lists and tags they belong to, when and how they subscribed (including the consent record: time, source, and IP address), and their unsubscribe, bounce, and complaint status.
  • Email activity. Whether an email was delivered, opened, or clicked, and which link. Customers use this to see how their email performs and to stop emailing people who are not interested.
  • Downloads, purchases, and replies. Files a reader claims (such as a free book or review copy), orders reported by a store the customer has connected, and replies a reader sends to the customer’s emails.
  • Page visits. Visits to and signups on a customer’s landing pages, forms, and website, counted so the customer can see what is working.

We do not email a customer’s readers for our own purposes, sell or rent reader lists, or combine one customer’s readers with another’s. If you are a reader and want to stop receiving a customer’s emails, use the unsubscribe link in any of them. To see, correct, or delete what a customer holds about you, contact that customer, or write to us and we will pass your request to them.

Data Usage

We use personal information to:

  • Provide the service: host your account, send the email you ask us to send, deliver files, publish your pages, and show you reports.
  • Bill you and manage your subscription.
  • Protect the service and its sending reputation: detect spam, fraud, and abuse; suppress addresses that bounce or complain; and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Answer your support requests and send you service messages, such as receipts, security alerts, and notices about changes to your account.
  • Find and fix errors, and understand in aggregate how the product is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on our contract with you to provide the service, on our legitimate interests in keeping it secure and improving it, on legal obligations such as keeping billing records, and on consent where we ask for it.

Connected social accounts

AuthorSend can publish to social platforms on your behalf, including Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook Pages and Threads. When you connect an account, we store the account’s public identifier, handle, display name and avatar, and the identifiers and links of the posts we publish for you.

How the connection itself is held depends on the platform. For Bluesky, Mastodon and Telegram we store the access credential that platform issues us, encrypted at rest. For Instagram, Facebook Pages and Threads we use a publishing provider, Post for Me, which holds the authorization you grant and publishes on our behalf; in those cases we never receive or store your platform credential, only a reference to the connected account. The text and images of posts you schedule to those three platforms are sent to that provider in order to publish them.

We use this only to publish the content you have written and scheduled, and to show you whether it published. We do not read your timeline, we do not post anything you have not composed and scheduled yourself, and we do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to train machine-learning models.

Credentials we hold are encrypted at rest, are never displayed back to you, and are never sent anywhere except to the platform that issued them. Disconnecting a destination deletes its stored credential immediately — or, where a publishing provider holds the authorization, revokes it with that provider — and deleting your account deletes every connected destination along with it. You can revoke our access at any time from the platform’s own settings, which stops us publishing there regardless of what is stored here.

AI Features

AuthorSend includes an AI assistant that drafts and rewrites text. When you use it, the text and instructions you give it — and the context needed to do the job, such as your brand voice profile or the email you are working on — are sent to our AI providers, OpenAI and Anthropic, to generate the result.

We also use these providers to sort the support messages we receive and, when you ask a question in the in-app help widget, to point you to the right help article. The text of the message is sent for that purpose.

We do not use your content or your readers’ information to train AI models. Our providers process this content through their business APIs, under terms that do not allow them to use it to train their models. We do not send your reader list to an AI provider; a single reader’s message is sent only when you ask the assistant to help you reply to it.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share it only with service providers who help us run AuthorSend, and only what each needs:

  • Amazon Web Services — hosting, databases, file storage, and email delivery. Data is stored in the United States.
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • OpenAI and Anthropic — generating text when you use the AI assistant, as described above.
  • Post for Me — publishing to Instagram, Facebook Pages, and Threads, as described above.
  • Sentry — error monitoring, which may include technical details about a request that failed.
  • Google Workspace — the mailboxes our support email arrives in.
  • Photo and book search providers (Unsplash, Pexels, Google Books, Open Library) — these receive only the words you search for when you look for a photo or look up your books.
  • Rewardful — crediting our partners. Only when you arrive through a partner’s link: Rewardful records that visit, and if you sign up, your email address, so the partner who sent you can be paid.

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our customers and the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business — in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

When someone reports an email, page, or file to us, we use what they send to look into it. A copyright notice is passed on to the account it concerns, as copyright law provides. Apparent child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children with the information the law requires.

When you connect a store or another tool to AuthorSend, or connect a social account, information moves between AuthorSend and that service at your direction and under that service’s own privacy policy.

Cookies

We use only the cookies and browser storage needed to make AuthorSend work: to keep you signed in, to protect forms against forgery, and to remember preferences such as a dismissed notice. Essential cookies are required for the site to function properly and cannot be switched off.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party analytics cookies on authorsend.com. The one exception is a visit that comes through a partner’s link: Rewardful then sets a cookie that remembers which partner sent you, for up to 60 days, so they can be credited if you sign up. A visit that does not come through a partner’s link loads nothing from Rewardful. If any of this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though you will not be able to sign in without them.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is open. You can export your readers at any time. If you close your account or ask us to delete it, we delete or anonymize your personal information and your readers’ within 30 days, except for what we are required to keep — such as billing records — and suppression records that ensure an address which unsubscribed or complained is not emailed again.

Customers can export or erase an individual reader’s information from within the app at any time.

A preview you asked us to email, and the address it went to, are deleted about 90 days after you last saved one.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, and object to or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@authorsend.com. We will not treat you differently for doing so. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security and International Transfers

Information is encrypted in transit, and credentials and other secrets are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

AuthorSend is operated from the United States, and information is stored and processed there. If you are located elsewhere, your information is transferred to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

Children

AuthorSend is not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. When we make a material change, we will tell customers by email or in the app, and the date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

Contact

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at privacy@authorsend.com. We will respond to your inquiry within 30 days.
